(More customer reviews)This steamer has a stepped bottom that fits my Sitram sauciers and sauce pans within it's size range. There is no steam leakage at the edges where the steamer meets the pot. Sitram and other brand lids fit it snugly with no steam leakage. The tubular handles are spot welded on at multiple points. They stay cool in use.
I like the three dimpled feet molded into the bottom, so you can cleanly set the steamer on a counter or stove top while loading it with vegetables or after you remove it from the stove top. It cleans up easily with Barkeeper's Friend or in the dishwasher.
I can't see any way it would wear out or ever need replacement unless you figure out a way to break the handles off.
