(More customer reviews)The Santa Fe is a large grill and seems like a good buy. The adjustable fire grate seems like a good idea but it doesn't fix this poor design. You have to use a LOT of charcoal in this sucker to get it going. If there was something to hold the coals together you could just fire up one side but there isn't. Also, the coals sit on a solid surface with a few holes. So instead of having air flow up through the coals the air flows across them. If the coals sat on a proper grate with proper air control you could control the temps of this grill better.
Good bbq can be accomplished with this grill but it is a LOT of work. I have watched over it tediously for hours. Do yourself a favor and get a kettle style grill with an aftermarket baffle if you want a versatile smoker/grill combo.
