This is a superb large steamer insert. It is great for large quantities of veggies or whatever you would like to steam. There is nothing like the flavor of freshly steamed veggies! It fits perfectly in the 6, 8, and 12 quart stock pots. I have only used it in the 6 and 8 quart stock pots myself. It is made very well and is excellent quality built to last. All Clad truly is lifetime cookware, I am sure you will not be disappointed. And it is backed by a lifetime warranty, what more can you ask for? Highly recommended! A+!

This was a disappointment. The outside gets hot enough to burn skin, if care is not taken. The edges of the insert are sharp and difficult/uncomfortable to lift, especially when full. The temperature is rather difficult to judge and seems to be very hot or very, very hot. Not recommended.

I love the mix n chop and you will too. I couldn't believe how great it was when frying up ground beef in the skillet for spagetti or hamburger helper or just about anything. You just keep chopping it down over the meat in the pan and after a short time the meat frys up in the most amazing small pieces. No clumps of meat! It works wonderful and when the meat is mixed into sauces, it is fantastic and all the same small size. The mix n chop won't scratch or harm your non stick pan. I was just astonished at how great this kitchen tool works. I can't fry hamburger anymore with out it! I love the mix n chop.

I had a lot of worries about making the Christmas pudding this year. A few years ago I had attempted to make the pudding and I had another mold and I failed miserably. The pudding just stuck to the mold and I was rather afraid of attempting to make it again. I have since married an Englishman who doesn't think it is Christmas unless there is pudding and of course we received a pudding mold as a wedding gift. This mold help me conquer my fear of making Christmas pudding. It created the perfect dessert. (complete with the flame) The mold is easy to clean and very simple to open and close. It does of course become very very hot when it has been steaming for several hours. Which is a great sign of it conducting the heat well and cooking the pudding. I will definitely be using this every Christmas for years to come!

My husband and I bought a big stainless steel grill (the kind with the side shelf and side burner, about 65" total I think). We looked at covers for it around town, and found the cheapest to be about $25-$30. This price pretty much got you a flimsy tarp cut in the shape of a grill. Not to say that these covers aren't effective, but we live in the south where rain, wind, and sometimes snow are a factor. For anything heavy duty, we found that covers were costing around $60 and up. I came on Amazon and found this cover for under $30 and gave it a shot.
This cover is made of heavy material and feels like it will hold up over time. I don't see it ripping from any normal use. It fits our grill perfectly, covering the whole thing. I like that I can put this on while the grill is still hot, because I am not one to remember to go back outside later to slap a cover on.
Overall I would highly recommend this cover. And you definitely can't beat this price for this good quality.

After using a silicone tagine and accidentally breaking a traditional tagine (cracked during use), I love this tagine. It is nice not having to prep and then nurse a traditional style for fear of it breaking. We've had it for about 2 weeks and have used it 5+ times. It heats and cooks beautifully on our stovetop, washes easy, and is very durable. The price is high, but the tagine is definitely worth it.

Beggars can't be choosers, and that seems to be true for takoyaki in the US. The delightful Osaka treat is rare enough even at Japanese restaurants, and the necessary implements for making it at home are even more so.
The absolute best set up is a round takoyaki pan, either on a gas or electric portable grill. Much of the fun of takoyaki comes from everyone sitting around the table and cooking together, putting in your favorite ingredients and popping the little balls out then eating them hot and fresh. That is how it is done in Japan, and home-cooking takoyaki isn't meant to be the province of a lone cook standing over a stove while everyone waits patiently for the food. It is a communal experience.
However, true takoyaki cookers are not readily available, and this pan is better than nothing. It doesn't take much, just a pan with round indents in it heavy enough to rest on the range while the balls are flipped over using long toothpicks. It isn't really designed to work with electric ranges, as they are pretty rare in Japan, but it does the trick. I don't recommend using the included steel pick, as it will scratch your pan and conduct heat while doing the flipping.

BUYERS BEWARE! Make sure it matches the product description!
I ordered this model number (#9195) on February 9th 2010 from Amazon, it was just delivered today (February 16, 2010). The one I received does NOT match the "Product Features" description. According to Amazon.com's product listing the model #9195 is supposed to have the 20 PSI regulator and a 48" hose. However! The box I received says it's the #9195 model number BUT the features listed on the box don't match this product listing here! The #9195 I received says it includes a 10 PSI regulator and 36" hose. I just added an image to the customer images on this product for you all to see.
There is a difference though it may seem small! A 20 PSI regulator gives more control over the flame on the burner, and obviously a 48" hose is well... longer than a 36" hose! I'm impatiently waiting for Amazon to correct this. I'm crossing my fingers they send the one that actually matches the "product features" listed here. I will update you all with the results when I get them.**UPDATE February 19, 2010**
Amazon has once again, screwed up my order on this product. I ordered this way in advance so that I could have it by today. They attempted to exchange it for the correct one... and lone behold, the one they rushed to correct the mix-up was not only sent directly from Amazon's Returns Center instead of Bayou directly like it was the first time... but it was also a cheaper model!! A model that was nearly half the price I paid at the time for the model #9195 (which was a hundred seventy six dollars!). So since no retailers near me sell these in stock (which is why I purchased it here in the first place). I got stuck having to use the one they sent me as a "correction" which was an older and much cheaper model, which it too was a 10PSI regulator and 36" hose ... because there was no way they'd be able to correct it in time for today AGAIN. They issued me a refund of the difference in cost for the one I ended up needing to keep. I also, have since looked up the model #9195 from Bayou's company catalog online and sure enough Amazon has the wrong product description for this model number!! So BUYER BEWARE EVERYONE! In all my years doing business with Amazon.com this is the first time I've had them screw up this royally. However, they will still have my business because the customer service to resolve this issue was great--even though, I had to Google to get their direct customer service number (1-800-201-7575)!**UPDATE March 3, 2010**
I can't help but laugh now. Amazon temporarily made this item unavailable for ordering while waiting to process my return but since my return was received they have now made the item available again through them.... and Amazon has still NOT updated the product description on this item! So everyone PLEASE BE AWARE this fryer set does NOT include a 20 PSI regulator or 48 inch hose! To everyone that orders it, and it doesn't match the product description--I encourage you to call and complain! Get a discount for false advertisement! Perhaps if they get enough complaints they'll get smart and finally correct their incorrect product description!**UPDATE December 18, 2010**
Looks like enough of you took my advice and complained to Amazon for the incorrect product description! Because the product description now FINALLY reflects the correct description! So thank you all for reading my review and for taking my advice! Aside from the ordering problems I had, Bayou turkey frying kits are great for home-brewing beer. If you're getting a Bayou kit for home brewing I highly recommend getting a Stainless Steel kit, as using an Aluminum pot will mess with the flavor and quality of your brew.

THIS FOOD WARMER IS FANTASTIC!!!! I have had mine for several years and absolutely love it! I bought mine to use on Thanksgiving. All the cooks out there responsible for the Thanksgiving feast know the cook is usually eating cold food. After letting all your guests serve themselves, making sure everyone has everything, & then getting your food, it's cold. I HATE COLD GRAVY. So after years of cold gravy, asparagus, and sweet potato pudding, I bought this warmer!! That Thanksgiving I gave thanks for family, my many blessings and for my HOT GRAVY!! This is a nice compact rotisserie, carrying that Foreman name and cachet, meaning good low-fat grilling or roasting. A rotisserie has an advantage over ovens and contact grills in that it uses radiant heat to evenly roast your food. The results are juicy and tender, with that wonderful crust that only air and radiant heat can produce. But is the Baby George all it's advertised to be?
Yes and no is the ambivalent answer. The Baby George is advertised to hold a five-pound roast or bird, and this is really NOT true, in my experience. Unless your five pound roast is very compact and not terribly WIDE, it will strike the front of the oven cover as it turns on the spit. That prevents the motor from turning the roast, and since the heating element (a simple exposed coil in back) is only on the back side, your roast can't cook properly.
For under five pound roasts, the rotisserie works well. To roast a pork roast or chicken, you use the spit. The spit is in two parts: a spike and plate on which you place the meat, and a top plate with a wing nut to hold the plate onto the spike. This unit is then placed into the roaster and it meshes with the cogs of the motor on the side. The lid is closed and you turn on the timer. There is no choice of temperature: the glowing element heats to about 325 degrees F and the meat rolls past it, roasting a 4 pound boneless pork roast in about 75 minutes.
There is a basket for roasting flat or odd shaped foods, and this unit is surprisingly useful. You can do fish like salmon, but I use it for chicken parts (leg and thigh) or for small boneless roasts that are too small for the spit. You open the metal basket, place the food inside, and close the basket top through the basket wires--rather like closing the door on a bird cage(!), pressing it down to hold the food in firmly (it will SHRINK on cooking, remember.) If you have trouble spitting a roast, remember the basket is a good option to get the same result. The basket fits into the roaster the same way as the spit--it meshes onto the cogs of the motor and flips around and around. Since it is a defined size, as long as the food can be held inside the basket, it will fit into the roaster and cook evenly.
I have not tried the shish-kabob brochettes. They are wire skewers that fit onto the outside of the spit unit, into slots that hold the skewers across the end plates. It looks flimsy to me, and I am not a fan of shish-kabob--if I were making skewered food, I'd do it on the outside grill.
The spit unit is dangerous to unload when the food is cooked. It is hot as can be, and you have to manipulate that wing nut off with a hot pad while holding the spit on a heat-proof and slip-proof surface. A clean damp dishtowel over a cutting board is what I use. The spit unit is lifted out of the rotisserie with a metal lifting holder, and you should have the rotisserie near where the meat will end up, because you are going to be carrying that metal holder with the spit unit and meat on it, dripping hot juices, over to where it ends up for carving.
The spit is also SHARP and if you press down the meat to load it, have your hand well away from the top of the spike so as not to jab yourself. There are two side spikes that line up at 90 degrees from each other on each plate, holding the meat on the center spike and then with the four surrounding smaller spikes. These can jab you, too. Putting the meat on takes some care.
The cleanup is not too bad: drip tray beneath is metal, cleans out easily with a bit of soaking. Behind the element inside the rotisserie you can pull out a metal reflecting plate. This plate gets spattered with meat juice or food juices and needs cleaning and soaking. Eventually it spots up, like a broiler pan, with tiny burnt-on bits that won't come off. If you like everything completely spotless, this may annoy you. The lid lifts off the unit by lining up some arrows. That allows you to take the lid to the sink and clean the clear window inside and out. The re-assembly is easy enough; push the metal reflecting sheet behind the element and seat it properly. Wipe out the rest of the inside, put the lid back on, replace the drip tray.
We got our unit on sale, and I do like it for roast chicken and roast pork. I liked it less for roast beef. Small pieces of fish and meat cooked well in the basket. If you need big roasts, the bigger unit is advisable. I don't mind the cleanup. My biggest problem is with the spit--not all the foods want to stay on it, and removing it from the roaster is a bit difficult.

We used our 16qt steamer last night for the first time to make tamales. We loved it! The steamer we had previously was only 8 qts, and didnt have a very deep insert, so you coudn't cook very many tamales at one time. This product has a deep insert which is perfect for making tamales.

No boiling over the top with this pan on your stove. It takes a bit longer to heat up than a smaller pot but when that jam gets a roiling boil it doesn't splatter all over the kitchen. Also if you do large quanities of applesauce this pan is great. Or cook 3 dungeness crabs? No problem, 10 ears of corn, no problem. Simmer a turkey carcass, no problem. The only thing wrong is the pot is big on the shelf but hey, its worth it. Great pot, only wish they made a 16 in stainless for making beer.
